Long Lost Official Premier

The Sierra Leone movie industry is humbly taking a stand as we have seen recent movies being done by young talented directors featuring young actors gradually drawback the lost attention from the industry that led to where we are today. This is the premiere of one of such movies, LONG LOST.

Date: 26th June 2021 Venue: New City Hall – Freetown – Sierra Leone

Ticket: Kekeh – Le 100,000 Taxi – Le 250,000 Jeef – Le 500,000

Long Lost is undoubtedly one of the movies you can anticipate watching if you are a movie lover. The director, Malvin Success Kanteh said that the movie is one of those that has brought back the good work the Sierra Leone Film Industry used to enjoy; especially in the heydays when good movies were being produced until when the market was full with flop movies that engineered the triumph of foreign movies over the local ones. 

These are his own words. ”It was not easy. I heard a vision before starting the project. I have been doing movies but out of Sierra Leone. So when I returned and observed the industry, I built my vision. I have travelled and know exactly how it works in other countries. So I thought to make faces out of a movie in my own nation that will show in Africa. I first met some big names as faces here but their price tag was more than the film budget and I could not make a movie paying actors a lot of money who do not have many views on their social media handles to make me get our money back. So, we decided to bring up new faces. And we did. Calling upon actors who were in the act but not that famous or known. We encouraged them and cast them. They gave dedications that we should not have even get from the big names. Even though the rehearsal was not easy to make them what we want, but we did it”.

Story Line of ”Long Lost”

Two blood sisters who got separated by accident engage in a musical contest which leads to mortal combat. They both date the same man, a situation which makes it even more dangerous to an extent of losing lives. They eventually happen to perform the same song on stage. The audience thinks it is the music producer, the man they both fight set them up. Only to figure out later that they are blood sisters.
