Malvin Sylvester Success Kanteh

Early Life

Malvin Sylvester Success Kanteh was born on the 7th February 1989 in Bo Municipality to Ishaka Kamara and Marian Mamie Bundu, an engineer and a businesswoman respectively. But he was raised by Murikay Kanteh and Margaret Kanteh, a police officer and a schoolteacher respectively. Malvin is single and presently lives in Lumley- Freetown.

He attended the United Methodist Church Primary School (UMC) in Bo, from class 1-6, where he sat to the National Primary School Examination. He enrolled at the Christ The King College (CKC) from JSS 1-3 where he sat to the Basic Education Certificate Examination. He transferred to the Bo Government School for his one and two senior secondary school levels. His father then enrolled him to the Eastern Secondary Private School where he sat WASSCE. He furthered to the Fourah Bay College, Unversity of Sierra Leone, and earned a degree in political science.

 Malvin later found out from Mrs. Margaret Kanteh, the woman he knew all his life as his mother, that she was only a step-mother to him; while Mrs Marian Bundu, the woman he referred to as aunty was his biological mother. They also told him about his biological father who abandoned them in his very tender age.

Career

Malvin Sylvester Success Kanteh is the Managing Director, writer, and head of directors in the company, Philip’s Creation Company. He started practicing playwriting while in secondary school. He started his film career in 2013. From 2014 to 2015, he attended a two years film class conducted by some Americans where he got a certificate in writing and directing.

After that, Malvin was recommended to a film producer in the state by one of his tutors, and he went on to do a movie; -title The Beauty of a Woman’ with the said producer. The movie won an award as the Best Movie; an award organized by SLAAM. He then opened the Cool J Films in respect of his son. After doing few movies, Malvin Sylvester Success Kanteh traveled to Liberia and Ghana and studied more about filmmaking. Upon his return, he did a movie and later joined the Universal Image Films as a writer and director. He was later spotted and made head of a multimedia company in Freetown by a Sierra Leonean resident in Australia. Melvin gives glory to God because he has a bigger platform that spread across Sub-African Region. The name is a house whole name. He has not really been fully involved in the entertainment on the ground in Sierra Leone because he normally does films for people in the diaspora.
